It has been a fun filled year working for Interhealth Canada as a Clinical Nurse Educator for the Operating Rooms in the Rashid Hospital Trauma Centre. Most of all it is exciting and great working with a team comprising of people from different cultures and genetations.The sharing of ideas and learning from each other is completely empowering. There are a lot of “Adrenalin Rush “moments that occur in the Trauma Centre OR, which are unique and enjoyable. Being involved in the type of trauma surgery that comes through the OR makes one feel very special and resourceful to the community.
Interhealth Canada has afforded me the opportunity to continue presenting at different congresses which I enjoy a lot. As the Rashid Hospital is going through the preparation for the second term of accreditation there is a lot of exciting and educative ventures to be involved in. Resently a disaster bus was launched and I was lucky to be involved in the OR preparations team and to be on the first deployment as an observer. What a Joyous venture! The quality improvement debriefing session that followed was both an educative and a solution finding mission which left one feeling valuable as a member of a comprehensive multidisciplinary health team.
